About Rebecca
Hi! I’m a product designer based in Berkeley, CA.
For the past 12+ years, I've been creating high-impact experiences for complex learning platforms, enterprise software, and mission-driven organizations. I’m especially good at transforming sprawling sets of documentation and data into navigable systems.
Before I was a product/UX designer, I was managing the chaos of enormous databases (and sometimes literal boxes) of discovery and evidence as a litigation support case manager for the California Attorney General’s Office.
Fun fact: I nearly got an MLIS instead of an MFA in Design. There’s an alternate reality version of me out there who became a librarian, but in this universe, I’m a designer who thrives on creating structure out of chaos (or, more commonly, mild-to-moderate disorganization).
Connect with me on LinkedIn if you want to know more about my career journey. :)
How I work
Problem solving starts long before talking to users or diving layers-deep into Figma files, as much as I love doing both. Building cross-functional stakeholder buy-in and understanding technical constraints is an essential foundation for any successful design solution. The teams I’ve worked with have consistently said great things about collaborating with me.
For the past 18 months, I’ve been co-leading discussions on content + product design topics at The Sensemakers Club alongside friend and content marketer Stephanie Lottridge.
I'm combining my love of user research & running as the SF East Bay field rep for Topo Athletic.
If I’m outside, I’m probably training for my next ultramarathon, rain or shine. Next up: Quad Dipsea.
(I do have a chill outdoor mode! Lately I’ve been paddleboarding on the bay. I’m also dipping a toe into my millennial bird-watching era.)
A handful of people told me they wanted to hear about the side projects I have going on at any given time, so I started a newsletter. Because I’m me, there’s usually an associated spreadsheet or Notion database. Or a map. Or a skill tree. You have been warned. :)
